Bright straw-green. Complex if slightly reduced aromas of pear, yellow apple, peach and a floral element make for a remarkably refined nose. Then downright piercing flavors of bitter orange marmalade, fruit cocktail and apple jelly that boast a multilayered quality and marvelous purity. Finishes long and clean with a powdery mineral overlay. The numbers imply this should taste off-dry (9.5 g/L. r.s.), but it actually tastes classically dry thanks to the wine’s characteristically extremely high acidity levels. The Clos Windsbuhl is always one of my favorite vineyards in the world, and I can’t remember ever having had a bad or even disappointing wine from it. Ian D’Agata – Vinous Media
A hint of funk due to the reduction, which is a feature of this site, but it is also a very sophisticated and elegant wine. It needs some time for the mineral depths to display themselves fully. Drink or hold. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. – James Suckling
Honey and smoke are signaled gently on the nose. On the concentrated body they are joined by a pleasant edge of honeyed bitterness pervaded by lemon zest, creating a flavor bomb with numerous focal points. It is all happening on this dry, bundled palate with endless drive. This needs time. Drink 2025–2035. – Wine Enthusiast
