A genuinely exotic wine that smells and tastes like no other Gewürz. There’s a fireworks display of fruit, floral and spicy aromas too complex to analyze here. There is some sweetness, but there’s so much character and such a fresh acidity for Gewürz that it isn’t a jot too much. Great finesse at the intensely mineral finish! James Suckling
2015 Gewurztraminer Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urbain has a pure and flinty bouquet of white ripe fruit aromas. Full-bodied, this is a rich, fresh and tension-filled wine with fine yet grippy tannins and lots of salt. Very intense, yet with moderate sweetness. The finish is clear, almost dry due to its minerality. Stephan Reinhardt
