Panama 2011 Trans-Continental Rum Line is brought to us by our good friends over at La Maison Du Whisky. It’s a limited edition of 1300 bottles from an unnamed (ahem…Ron Abuelo) Panama distillery. High quality molasses has been slowly fermented then distilled in a traditional column still before being aged for 6 years in an ex-bourbon cask. When the 6 year maturation in Panama was completed, the cask was then transported to France, replicating the same journey which would have been made in times of yore. The rum was matured for a further year on arrival in France before being bottled. The line inspired by the rich history of the transatlantic crossings of rum casks, the transcontinental rum line range aims to highlight the typicity and diversity of the world’s best provenances for rum.
